ROME PART III REVIEW:

1. Most citizens of Rome lived in the country side and worked on farms. Soldiers, artisans, and merchants lived in the city

2. Slaves in the Roman World were usually people from conquered areas. They either worked hard labor or were Gladiators

3. Religion in the early Roman World was similar to Greek religion. They were polytheistic, believing in many gods.

4. The Roman gov. distracted the masses from thier problems by holding free Gladiator contests in the Colliseum.

5. Jesus life was spent preaching to people everywhere. In his early years he was a carpenter

6. The Christian Church was spread by Jesus' followers traveling all over sharing his message

7. Early Christians were persecuted because they refused to worship the Roman gods. Thousands of them were crucified, burned, and killed because of their beliefs.

8. Christianity was able to spread even though there was persecution because Rome had a good system of roads that allowed Christians to travel throughout the empire sharing with others.
